The Sansing family gathering ended today. It was a great visit. One more reference to the tons of extra photos on our flickr site here...
Eric made breakfast for us all before Robin, Quinn and Zoe hit the road. He also had time to take this video of Zoe doing sign language for Silas.

We all had so much fun together for Thanksgiving, though we really tried to cram a lot in to our last full day together and things got a little stressful at times. Overall, it was still a fabulous day.

So, we started out with brunch at Pamela's

The women + Silas then went to REI and bought some hats...
Hats all around!

Then it was back to the house for leftovers and turkey soup, and a little more quality family time.

The day after Thanksgiving was a lazy day of hanging out at the Grandparents hotel all day, spending quality time together as a family. This is the only Silas photo I managed to take all day.

The whole Sansing side of the family is visiting for Thanksgiving. There are many more pictures on the flickr site here, but here are a couple of highlights from today.

and, the video of Grandpa Bob entertaining Silas. It's a little dark, but I still like it.

Becky ended up with an extra ticket to the opera, and Eric 'n' Silas were nice enough to let me go. So the house was full of male folks only. It doesn't seem like they missed me too much.

Boys night in... what?!

Ok, I'm really excited about this. I don't spend a lot of time with Silas on the floor, but just yesterday we spent some quality tummy time on the floor where I was rolling him over so he could get the feel for it (Eric has done this in the past as well). So, last night, we were hanging out on the floor and Silas just rolled right over - all by himself! So this morning I set out to capture it on video.

I see great things ahead for Guthrie once Silas starts eating. He already howls whenever Silas cries, pretty soon he'll whine whenever Silas eats.

Silas and Eric got to spend some time together this evening. It's so much fun to watch them play.

Silas has been enjoying sitting on our laps whenever he can, so we decided to get him his own chair. He doesn't seem to love it yet, but I'm hoping he'll enjoy it... especially when he gets to sit with everyone at Thanksgiving dinner!

Silas loves to practice standing. His neck strength is getting better and better, and he seems pretty psyched about it :)

Joy gave Silas these great bug socks and wrist-bands to help him find his feet and hands. I don't know what he thinks, but I love 'em.

Becky and Tim had a mustache party, and the babies decided to get in on the fun (well, the parents of the babies thought it would be cute... and man, were we right!). From left to right: Silas, Ceci, and Ruby.

Silas and I met Ceci and Giovanna for lunch today. Ceci is fascinated by Silas... he was nice enough to let her play with his feet.

Afterward, I stopped by Hillel Academy to visit with some of my former students and let them see Silas. This is Lindsey holding Silas

We went out to dinner for the first time in awhile. We decided to go to El Campusino, which is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the city. The booths are very colorful...

Silas and I went to keep Becky company while she prepped for her mustache party this Friday. We were lucky enough to help her bake cookies. Yum!

Eric, Silas and I went to Handmade Arcade together today. There were so many babies there, it was amazing.

Afterward, we went to Eric's office, and Silas and I hung out while Eric worked. Silas is now adept at getting his fist into his mouth and chewing on his curled up index finger.

He is also able to focus on and react to objects and people more than just a foot or two away from him. We had a lot of fun together, and Eric got to come over occasionally and say hi.

Silas went to the pediatrician today for more shots. He now weighs 11 pounds 11 ounces. He's been pretty tired and cranky all day from the shots, but here he is laughing and playing with Eric. Papa always knows how to make Silas smile.

Silas, Guthrie and I met up with Ruby, Ivy and Susie (names: baby, dog, mom) at Frick Park today. This amazing weather is supposed to end today, so we went out and tried to make the most of it. It was a gorgeous afternoon and Silas and Ruby slept through the entire hike, but woke up when we pulled them out of their carriers. Ruby is 2 weeks older than Silas. They are such cuties, though she is always much better dressed than him :)

On Saturday we went to the nursing home where Great Grandma Randall is currently staying. Nobody told her we were coming, so it was a great surprise. She was so incredibly excited to see Silas. It was wonderful. Here are a couple of pics from the visit.

We decided at the last minute to drive to Valparaiso, Indiana for the weekend to introduce Silas to his Great Grandparents.

Here he is at a rest stop with us in Ohio.
