May 31, 2009: 9 months 26 days old

Today was our turn to host the Roving Brunch. Since we held it outside, Guthrie got to hang out with Sasha and Chuck during the brunch. After we ate we played a little Apples To Apples. Overall it was a wonderful time. All the brunch pics are in the Roving Brunch set on our flickr site here.

May 30, 2009: 9 months 25 days old

Eric bought Silas a soccer ball. Silas really loves it. And, he loves playing with Papa and Guthrie, so overall, it was a super fun night for Silas!

May 29, 2009: 9 months 24 days old

Storytime today. Silas actually slept through storytime, but he got to play with a Susie and a few other babies. Later we hung out at the fountain with friends. Here are a couple of pics from the outing.

May 27, 2009: 9 months 22 days old

After yoga this morning, Silas and I met up with Kate and took a walk in Frick Park. Then, we met up with Eric at Becky and Tim's where we enjoyed a nice meal and great company.

May 26, 2009: 9 months 3 weeks old

Silas is getting into everything. Here is a nice (but kinda dark, sorry) video of a pretty typical afternoon hanging out in our dining room. I call the video 'Babbling and Ballplay.'

May 25, 2009: 9 months 20 days old

Our last day of camping in West Virginia. The weather was phenomenal the entire time and overall we had a really wonderful time on the trip. Final time mentioning the flickr photos here. Below is one final pic of Silas playing in the leaves, and a video of Silas climbing the stairs in the playground at Chestnut Ridge Park where we camped.

May 24, 2009: 9 months 19 days old

We were supposed to go home today, but we were having so much fun that we decided to stay until Monday. So, more camping! Again, the flickr site has way more pics. The link is here. Below are just a couple from the day. Eric and Guthrie went canoeing while Silas and I hung out at the campsite (he took a 2 hour nap!). Then we all went for another hike in the forest.

More camping pics. Again, the link to our flickr site is here. Here are a few highlight pics. It was a full day. We hiked at Cooper's Rock State Forest (2nd pick) and Silas went swimming for the first time ever (3rd pick) and, the big news of course is that today is Eric's Birthday!!!!

May 22, 2009: 9 months 17 days old

Today was the start of our camping trip to Coopers Rock State Forest. We stayed at Chestnut Ridge Park just outside the forest in a nice wooded campsite. I put up a ton of pics on our flickr site here. Below is one from our first night out in the woods.

We went to the Sprout Fund Mural Contest Art display? in Regent Square to see Ryder's entry for the Morningside mural. It was a fun outing.

May 20, 2009: 9 and a half months old

Happy Birthday Cousin Quinn!!! Today we went to Mommy and Baby yoga, and then went to the Frick Park Nature Center to enjoy a nice picnic together. Folks in the picture from the left: Susie & Ruby, Gillian and Aiden, Ceci and Joy, Bethany and Silas

Silas wants to do everything we do including eat 'real' food all by himself. Here is a video of him eating pancakes for breakfast. Below is from a nice walk we had in Frick Park with our baby and mommy friends.

May 18, 2009: 9 months 13 days old

Eric took the only picture of Silas today on his laptop camera. Not the best shot, but better than nothing. In tooth news, Silas's Right Front tooth on the top has come through. He now has four teeth on top and two on the bottom.

May 17, 2009: 9 months 12 days old

Pedal Pittsburgh. Even though we didn't get home until 2 am, Eric still managed to get up and ride 60 miles! He ran into Carmon on the way and they rode the last 30 or so together.

May 16, 2009: 9 months 11 days old

We spent the day in Binghamton before heading home around 5. Here is a pic from Reed's T-ball game. Evan really wanted to play (he's in the center running toward the camera wearing a mitt).

May 15, 2009: 9 months 10 days old

We drove to Binghamton, NY today to visit with Eric's college friend Lisa and her family (husband Miguel and sons Reed (5) and Evan (3)). I somehow managed to get no pictures at all of Miguel, but here is Silas with the rest of the family shortly after we arrived. The boys were so excited to see Silas.

May 14, 2009: 9 months 9 days old

We went out to dinner at the Anchor Bar here in Buffalo. It is the place where Buffalo Wings originated from. Silas really seemed to like the wings. We got the 'mild' wings out of fear that they would be too hot. They were really good, but had almost no hot sauce on them. Still, it was a nice dinner and overall a fun experience. AND, Silas had his right top front incisor break through the gums today. Only the top right center tooth left of the four coming in and hopefully that will happen in the next day or two. He is now up to FIVE teeth. crazy.

May 13, 2009: 9 months 8 days old

We walked around Buffalo for a few minutes with Eric while he had a break from the conference, and then Silas and I found a really nice park (Delaware Park) where we got to take a walk.

May 12, 2009: 9 months 1 week old

Off to Buffalo! Eric is attending the American Solar Energy Association annual conference and Silas and I got to tag along. Silas really likes the view from the hotel windows. Also, a teeth update... Silas's left front upper tooth broke through today. He's basically got four upper teeth all coming in at once right now! AND... Silas has finally mastered consistently drinking from the sippy cup all by himself.

May 11, 2009: 9 months 6 days old

Our second 'hip mama' playgroup. This time we met at the Children's Institute Playground. Huge place. Silas of course, was most interested in the non-playground equipment he found. He did also love the stairs and the slide.

May 10, 2009: 9 months 5 days old

Mother's Day. We set up the bike seat on my bike, but it's missing a part. Here is our test with Silas set up and ready to go. Hopefully we'll get the part soon so he can go for a ride. Though, judging by the look on his face, he might not mind waiting.

May 9, 2009: 9 months 4 days old

Silas likes to chew on my crocs, so I bought some (knock-off brand) for him. I also got a new phone today and I took lots of pictures, but I'm still working on how to get them on to my computer without paying for mobile web, email or text messaging. It'll happen, I'm just cheap :)

Friday is storytime. Always at least one nice picture from the outing. Then, tonight was the 2nd anniversary 'Karmic Salon' at Yoga Matrika. Below are a couple of pics from Silas watching the musicians play.

May 7, 2009: 9 months 2 days old

Not the best picture ever, but the only one I took today. It's a pretty good view of how big Silas is getting. He finally 'fits' in his high chair. We went to the pediatrician today and Silas got a clean bill of health. Here are his 9 month stats: Height - 26.5 inches, Weight - 16 pounds 7 ounces, Head Circumference - 42.5 cm. He's small, but Eric and I were super tiny kids so it isn't surprising, and he's healthy. All good.

May 6, 2009: 9 months 1 day old

After yoga today we went out to lunch at the Square Cafe in Regent Square with Joy, Ceci, Gillian and Aiden. Later in the day Silas got to spend some time doing his new favorite thing... walk outside with his wagon.

May 5, 2009: 9 months old

Happy Nine Months Birthday Silas! We visited with Joy and Ceci today. Joy pulled out Ceci's wagon for Silas to play with and it ended up that both kids wanted to use the wagon. Here they are 'sharing' her wagon. Oh, if they could talk...

May 4, 2009: 8 months 29 days old

Silas drinking water all by himself (he also has figured out how to drink through a straw in the last week or so).

May 3, 2009: 8 months 4 weeks old

Silas got to see his first marathon today. The runners ran within 3 blocks of our house in Bloomfield. Our friends Kevin and Ryder both ran it. We missed Kevin, but there are a couple of pics of Ryder on our flickr site here. Later in the day Silas had some fun playing with Eric and Guthrie. Photos below.

May 2, 2009: 8 months 27 days old

Silas and I met up with Eric at Steak 'n' Shake for lunch, where Silas finally got to try a milkshake. As opposed to pretending to try the milkshake, which is what was happening here when he was a mere 17 days old. Time sure flies!

May 1, 2009: 8 months 26 days old

Another VIDEO. We spent a little time outside today walking with Silas's wagon. He's getting pretty good at it. He fell more going away from the camera because there is a very slight downhill to the sidewalk.

I dug out some 'new' clothes for Silas (new for him, anyway). Here he is squatting in one of his 'new' outfits.
