I have mostly baby-proofed the dining room. Silas is getting into everything! So, to keep him occupied, I pulled out some wooden blocks that Tante gave to him.

Eric is going to Indianapolis for the weekend, so he and Silas spent some quality time together before he left.
February 26, 2009: 6 months 3 weeks old
It's my birthday today! Weird to be 37 with a baby. I don't feel that old. Anyway, to celebrate, we spent some quality time outside. It's a balmy 51 degrees today.
February 25, 2009: 6 months 20 days old
Silas has a tooth in the front on his lower jaw. I keep trying to get a picture, but it's a hard spot. I'm working on it!
February 24, 2009: 6 months 19 days old
Susie and Carmon generously gave us some cloth pocket diapers. I'm still getting the hang of using them, but I like them a lot. Oh, and if I don't give Silas a toy while I'm changing his diaper, he will roll over onto his belly in about half a second.

Frozen banana is good for teething baby. Guthrie covets the frozen banana. mmmm.

I knit a hat for Silas awhile ago and I finally finished putting it together today. It's made out of corn yarn.

Silas has a cold and he hates when I wipe his nose. Other than that, he's doing great!

Yoga day. Ceci and Silas were practicing some baby partner yoga.

Silas likes to chew on red pepper. And, I think I really did feel a tooth coming in, in the front on the bottom.

I'm really appreciative of the fact that our friends enjoy hanging out with Silas. It allows us to socialize, and Silas enjoys the attention.

I couldn't tell which made him happier, being in the bath with his dad, or splashing the water. Either way, Silas had a blast.

We shared some asparagus with Silas at dinner, here's a picture that Eric took of the event. Don't worry, there isn't any salt on the piece we gave him. He seemed to enjoy it.

Busy days yesterday and today. First it was brunch at the Quiet Storm with friends, then we went for a nice long walk on the south side with Susie and Ruby.

Joy, Mark and Ceci invited us over for dinner. We all had a lot of fun.
February 5, 2009: 1/2 year old
To celebrate Silas's 6 month birthday today, we went to visit Joy and Ceci. Silas and Ceci had fun playing with each others' toys. Then it was off to the pediatrician. The stats: Height - 25.5 inches, Weight - 14 pounds 13 ounces, Head Circumference 42.5 cm.

Silas ate sweet potato puree for dinner and then spent some quality time hanging out in his highchair. Here's Eric keeping Silas entertained.

The Steelers won the Superbowl. I swear Silas has on Steelers footie pj's under his fleece! This was the scene on Liberty Ave in Bloomfield after the victory. Eric's got a bunch more pics on his blog here.
